In the five or so years that LOAF Recordings has been in existence, we’ve grown up.

Since we first started providing ‘Luxury DIY’ to the masses through a multi award-winning marriage of the lo-fi sounds of breaking new musicians with the high-class aesthetics of some of the world’s most prominent image makers, LOAF has come a long way. Out of our infancy and through our adolescence, we’ve taken off our slippers and now we’re stepping out.

Taking note from experimental popsters such as Family Fodder, Bill Nelson and The Flying Lizards, we strive to present a reconfigured outlook on Pop Music; sophisticated, full of humour and most importantly fun. That familiar DIY feeling but without the grotty warehouse vibe.

This isn't bedroom music, this is the whole house. Domestic Pop arise!

Priding ourselves on being what we call a 'No frills'* label—Simple, artist-based presentation—LOAF has never taken the lime-light from it's artists. Without vanity or fanfare, we've waited until the natural process of brewing a strong label aesthetic had infused to the point of pouring out a lovely mug of musical tea (with a slice of LOAF).

This 14-track compilation focuses a spotlight over some like-minded artists who have caught our attention over the years. We've hand-picked the most delicious blend of fruity flavours from our catalogue, including the surprisingly gentle pop-tinged side of techno maverick Cursor Miner, the cheesy onslaught slack-key guitar of GaBlé, the late night TV re-run atmosphere of The Chap, the Nicole Kidman inspired track by our favourite 'Hommie' Vincent Oliver, A whiter than white gleamer served up by Omo and the labyrinthine building-forts-with-their-duvets-in-your-living-room pop of Oen Sujet.

Typically British, our hospitality extends far beyond our own family; Bands who have previously only popped over for cake via our home stereo system have been welcomed over to stay.

We cuddle up to CÂLIN's chirpy plip-pop in bed at night, only to be awakened by Le Club des Chats' howls first thing in the blasted morning as they take advantage of having plenty of room to swing. Our resident troubled teenager Van_Zit (Actually Johannes von Weisácker of The Chap) gets pretty self-conscious, while Fred Dutch (The artist formerly known as LOAF's Batfinks) raids the pantry for rave noodles. The queue to the bathroom lengthens as Nico-Teen records vocals, Joe Meek style. Supertalented fails to showcase her sultry Nico style whispers on the phone and Gregaldur naps in-between guitar ditties for the kids. You don't want to know what The Black and Whites are up to in the Kitchen.. well, maybe you'd like a peek - vimeo.com/chanels/loaftv#123456
